Big Show Win (3-1 Handicap Match)

LOS ANGELES – In a 3-on-1 Handicap Match, one might expect the larger number to come out on top. But by chokeslamming Joseph Mercury onto a prone Luke Gallows, Big Show proved that just because CM Punk’s group of cronies are straight edge, it doesn’t necessarily mean they’re better than you – in the squared circle.







For weeks, CM Punk and the Straight Edge Society have been at odds with The World’s Largest Athlete, most recently attacking the Superstar’s hand in a brutal steel step assault, damaging tendons.






During parts of the match, The Straight Edge Society seemed to have the upper hand. Outside the ring, the group pummeled Big Show after smartly grounding him, trying to wear down the giant and give their team a better chance at pulling off the victory. But their overzealousness and cockiness in the numbers game backfired.






Never one to back down, Big Show used his anger in the bout, manhandling the bald-headed Luke Gallows and Joseph Mercury to The Second City Savior’s dismay. Though the odds may have been stacked against Show, the Knucklehead star stood firm.






Before the WWE Official finished the three-count, Punk was finished, too. The leader walked out, disgusted with the dismal performance he had just seen from his followers. With Serena falling off the wagon, and The Straight Edge Superstar continually reprimanding his devoted cohorts, the foundation of The S.E.S. appears to be on shaky ground.






What’s next for The S.E.S.? CM Punk has always been intent on saving everyone else, but can he save his own society?

New Divas Champ "Melina"

LOS ANGELES — Only two weeks after returning from a devastating leg injury that put her on the sidelines for eight months, Melina showed the WWE Universe that she hasn’t lost a step by defeating Divas Champion Alicia Fox at SummerSlam to reclaim the title she was forced to vacate nearly a year ago.







Competing in her hometown of Los Angeles, the lovely Latina showed no signs of ring rust as she battered the ferocious Fox with her unique style of wildly athletic offense. Although The Foxy Floridian is a force to be reckoned with in her own right, she simply couldn’t counter Melina’s desire and passion to win and ultimately fell to Raw’s scream queen.






The beauty’s championship celebration wouldn’t last long, however. Within moments of grasping the title, Melina was interrupted by the self-professed co-Women’s Champions, Layla and Michelle McCool. The Team Lay-Cool vixens let the new Divas Champion know that they were the only women who mattered in WWE and told her to leave the ring. Although she was outnumbered, Melina was not about to allow these mean girls to ruin her moment and attacked the pugnacious pair, but ended up on the receiving end of a harsh beating.






Still, despite Team Lay-Cool’s rude interruption, Melina’s amazing victory cannot be overlooked. It was only two weeks ago that the gorgeous grappler made a surprising return to Raw to put the arrogant Alicia Fox in her place and she is already back on top of the division.






But with Simply Flawless targeting her and Fox already gunning for a rematch, Melina is quickly remembering that the top is the most dangerous place to be in WWE. And the Divas Champion wouldn’t have it any other way

Intercontinantel Championship Was Stopped;Due To Interfare By Nexus

LOS ANGELES – Dolph Ziggler put his newly-acquired Intercontinental Championship on the line for the first time at SummerSlam against title-hungry ex-champion Kofi Kingston. But thanks to an unexpected interruption by The Nexus, the Intercontinental Championship Match at SummerSlam ended in a no contest.







Kingston has been seeking retribution – and the Intercontinental Title – ever since Ziggler snatched it away from him on SmackDown, thanks to some crafty interference by SmackDown Official Consultant Vickie Guerrero. But neither the eager Kingston nor the defensive Ziggler could finish their highly-competitive match after The Nexus’ shocking interruption. Ziggler left the STAPLES Center retaining the Intercontinental Title, but he and his opponent were left stunned and battered after The Nexus’ brutal assault.






Wade Barrett promised the WWE Universe that he and his six, united accomplices would take their next step forward that night at SummerSlam, cementing their status as the most destructive force in the history of WWE. The Nexus’ attack came just a few hours before their critical 7-on-7 Elimination Match against Team WWE in front of a sold-out crowd of 17,463 in Los Angeles.






But during the Intercontinental Championship Match, it was Ziggler and Kingston who fell victim to The Nexus’ impactful timing at the start of SummerSlam.

Team WWE Wins:Daniel Bryne Returns

LOS ANGELES - The name Daniel Bryan was a footnote, relegated to Internet message boards and obscure wrestling trivia. After all, the season one WWE NXT Rookie had been betrayed and attacked by his fellow Rookies – The Nexus – and remained forgotten in the wake of the group’s carnage. But now, Bryan is a man no one in WWE will ever forget. For it was he who joined Team WWE as their seventh man, helped dismantle The Nexus in an unforgettable 7-on-7 Elimination Tag Team Match and likely helped save Monday Night Raw.







As The Nexus have wreaked their particularly insidious strain of chaos, intimidation and ruthlessness on Raw, the group, including Wade Barrett, Skip Sheffield, David Otunga, Justin Gabriel, Darren Young, Heath Slater and Michael Tarver, appeared to be rushing toward total domination. The only roadblock? Team WWE and the determination of John Cena, Bret Hart, Edge, Chris Jericho, John Morrison and R-Truth. While the WWE squad faltered and fragmented in the weeks leading up to SummerSlam, they nonetheless united around a single purpose: Break The Nexus.






Going into the night, Team WWE’s seventh man remained a mystery. The Miz was convinced it was he who would be tapped, which made him all the more apoplectic when Cena revealed that the seventh man was actually Bryan.






As the audience in the STAPLES Center roared their approval, Bryan took his place alongside his new teammates. Despite a shrewd strategy employed by The Nexus, the group simply could not overcome their veteran counterparts and the momentum accompanying Bryan (despite an attack on Bryan from The Miz during the match). With looks of shock and dismay, the members of The Nexus were humbled as, one-by-one, they found themselves eliminated from the bout until finally all seven were forced to admit defeat.






The victory proved vital for Team WWE, demonstrating that the myriad Superstars are capable of setting aside their differences in the pursuit of defending what they hold dear. And despite the bruising loss, it’s also safe to assume that the WWE Universe hasn’t heard the last of The Nexus – or one Daniel Bryan.

Orton Win By "Disqualifaction"

LOS ANGELES – WWE Champion Sheamus will be the first to admit that his ruthless in-ring style and tendency to bend the rules have catapulted the irritable Irishman to great heights in WWE, earning him two WWE Title reigns in under a year. That relentless attitude helped The Celtic Warrior retain the WWE Title against Randy Orton at SummerSlam, clinging to his beloved championship after attacking the match official and getting disqualified. However, Sheamus could hardly escape Orton’s clutches after the match when he found himself at the receiving end of a venomous RKO onto the announce table.







Targeting Orton’s right arm, Sheamus used his weight advantage and notoriously hammer-like offense to weaken his opponent early in the match, enjoying the brutality all the while. But serpents are most dangerous when they’re wounded, and The Viper soon sank his fangs into the pale-skinned pugilist, much to the delight of the sold-out crowd at the STAPLES Center in Los Angeles. But after Orton kicked out of Sheamus’ punishing Brogue Kick, a frustrated Sheamus went outside the ring for a steel chair. A WWE official tried to pry the weapon from The Celtic Warrior's grasp, but was shoved off the ring apron and onto the ground in return, resulting in a disqualification.






Although Sheamus and Orton have faced off in the past – most notably at the 2010 Royal Rumble, where The Celtic Warrior successfully retained the WWE Title – their rivalry has intensified over the past several weeks after WWE’s Apex Predator defeated Edge and Chris Jericho on Raw to become the No. 1 Contender to the WWE Title. Since then, The Viper has been on the hunt for his Seventh World Title, but the first-ever Irish-born WWE Champion has affirmed to the WWE Universe that he’s never been afraid of snakes.






Knowing Sheamus’ history of stealing victories due to outside interference, Raw’s anonymous General Manager proclaimed that any Superstar interfering in this bout would be suspended indefinitely. The GM also announced that if Orton could not defeat Sheamus at SummerSlam, he would get no rematch and would go to the back of the line. When Sheamus’ disqualification destroyed Orton’s chances of attaining the WWE Title at SummerSlam – or anytime soon, for that matter – The Viper went berserk, leveling the technically-victorious Sheamus with a post-match RKO.






Even though Sheamus seems to have taken Orton out of the running for his WWE Championship, the WWE Universe can expect the animosity between these two Superstars to continue Monday nights on Raw

Kane def. Mystrieo:Undertaker Returns

LOS ANGELES – Before a sold-out crowd at SummerSlam, World Heavyweight Champion Kane triumphed over the ultra-resilient Rey Mysterio. However, when The Big Red Monster opened the casket to stuff Mysterio inside, he discovered Undertaker waiting for him! (Match photos)







Though Mysterio displayed amazing heart in the face of an enraged Kane, the tortuous assault by the horrific Superstar ultimately proved to be too much for The Ultimate Underdog. Shortly after fighting his way out of the casket, Mysterio finally fell to his frightening opponent’s earth-shattering chokeslam.






After successfully defending his “holy grail,” The Big Red Monster attempted to fulfill his promise to stuff his masked adversary into a casket. But, when he opened the lid, he was greeted by none other than the returning Phenom, who rose from within, stunning the champion and sending the WWE Universe into an all-out frenzy. However, when The Deadman attempted to turn his wrath on Kane and deliver a chokeslam of vengeance, the World Champion countered, tombstoning The Undertaker in the center of the ring.






One month earlier - on the very same night he won the briefcase at the Money in the Bank pay-per-view - Kane cashed in his Money in the Bank title opportunity on Mysterio to become the World Heavyweight Champion.






Though the World Title was on the line, the brutal showdown at SummerSlam was interwoven with something far more personal. The self-professed “Devil’s Favorite Demon” had been on a volatile quest for months, searching for the Superstar who left his brother, The Undertaker, in a vegetative state.






Nine days before SummerSlam, Kane claimed that The Demon of Death Valley had named Mysterio as the guilty party. The Master of the 619 wholeheartedly denied this charge, claiming Kane had attacked his own brother. Little did the WWE Universe know that The Undertaker himself would appear to settle the argument in shocking fashion!






What will happen this Friday on SmackDown, now that The Deadman has risen once more and The Brothers of Destruction are no more?
